Library Resources
The Main Campus Libraries (Lauinger and the Woodstock Theological Center Library) hold approximately 30,000 volumes in the Chinese language and more than 10,000 volumes in Western languages on China. The Chinese holdings are strong in Chinese language, literature, linguistics, and history. Through the China-Academic Journals Full-Text Database, Lauinger Library indexes over 500 journal titles in the fields of literature, history, and philosophy with a majority in Chinese language.
Special collections maintain correspondence and reports sent from Jesuit Missions in the Far East from 1675 to 1682. The Gelardin New Media Center holds audio-visual materials related to China. The collection also includes 153 computer discs of Wen yuan ge Si Ku Quan Shu from Wuhan University. Government Documents/Microforms holds some 50 microforms in addition to Federal publications on China.
The Georgetown Law Center's Wolff Library also features an Asian Legal Sources Research Guide containing English language materials. If you are getting started with your research on foreign law in general, the Foreign and Comparative Law Guide will also help you identify basic sources and help you formulate a research strategy.
For more information about Georgetown's library resources related to China, contact Ding Ye, the Asian Studies Bibliographer at Lauinger Library.
The Georgetown National Resources Center on East Asia also has useful links to library resources related to China Studies.
